How to Write a Hair Stylist Resume
How to Write a Hair Stylist ResumeA lot of the time, the client sees a well written hair stylist resume and he or she actually doesn't see the hair stylist at all. In fact, sometimes it is the hair stylist that will get the job, especially if the stylist has a good work history. So it is important to be able to write a good resume for a hair stylist. It's not as difficult as you may think. One thing to keep in mind is that you can choose your own style when writing a hair stylist resume. You don't have to match everything on the letter with everything else. Some applicants use certain styles in their letters while others do not. What you do want to do is choose a style that is consistent with what you do. It can look unprofessional if you do not.The best way to go about writing your own style is to use the same letter as you would to mail out for other jobs. Pick the style that is most appealing to you and be consistent. Make sure to do this for any letter you send out. While you are w riting your letter, have a good head start on the questions they will ask. You can always look over the rest of their work, but for the questions they will ask, the best place to find them is at the top of the letter. They should be asked at the top as well. Here is where you can start to use examples of work done by past clients as examples of the kind of work a hair stylist should be able to do. Remember that they are looking for someone who knows their stuff. And a client that knows their stuff will go with anyone, so having examples is a must. While you are writing the letter, make sure to talk about what the new or current client likes about you. For example, if they say they want to know how professional you are, talk about how you demonstrate professionalism every day. Don't leave it to chance, show them that you know how to act with the rest of the staff.Be as brief as possible when giving examples of yourself. Do not try to cover the breadth of your experience. Remember that they are not going to see a resume filled with examples of yourself. Give them examples of what they need to know to decide whether or not you are the right person for the job. Also be careful to note that you have many years of experience and have worked in salons for a long time.Remember that a hair stylist resume should not be too long, because they are mostly a few paragraphs long. When you are done writing your letter, make sure to scan it several times to make sure you have all the information they will need. With the proper knowledge of the process involved, your resume should look good and help you land a job.
